Return Policy:
Dry Goods
We have a 14-day return policy on dry goods, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. If returned via online order please provide us with the order number.
To start a return, you must contact us via telephone or email via sales@js-koi.co.uk. The customer is responsible for any shipping charges incurred during the returns process. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: 7 Fleam Road, Nottingham, NG11 8PJ.

After leaving our premises, JS KOI Limited accept no responsibility for Koi purchased and cannot be returned due to our strict bio security measures.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, providing as much information as possible using photographic and/or video evidence where applicable, so that we can evaluate the issue as quickly as possible and make it right.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund has been approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at sales@js-koi.co.uk.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Shipping Policy:
Deliveries for both Koi and Dry Goods are currently available for UK Mainland only.
Collection of Koi can be made via appointment.
Koi Deliveries:
Koi will be shipped using APC overnight shipping service. Express delivery costs a minimum of £29.95 per box, subject to size and Koi quantity. The delivery service provided is a pre afternoon 'Next Working Day' delivery on koi only.
Once an order is placed, JS KOI will notify you of available delivery dates. Our dispatch days are Tuesday-Thursday and delivery days Wednesday-Friday. Confirmation may be required due to signature upon delivery. If an order is placed on Wednesday, this will be added to the deliveries for the next day or following week if requested. If you have opted for delivery, we will contact you via email to confirm delivery availability prior to shipping your order. Koi will only be actioned for delivery if confirmation is provided to us by phone or email that a recipient will be at the specified delivery address on the agreed date of delivery to sign for the Koi in person. Please ensure that you provide a valid email address and contact number for deliveries.
All Koi purchased with us between 15/11/2024 and 28/02/2025 can be wintered within our facilities at no extra cost until 31/03/2025. After this date, there is a holding fee of £15 per week on Koi purchased between the specified dates. Customers will be contacted in due course to arrange collection or delivery.
Please check with your local APC courier to ensure Live Fish can be delivered to the specified address prior to purchase.
Unfortunately, due to strict regulations on next-day deliveries for livestock, we only deliver to mainland UK. However, we are unable to ship to certain remote areas where overnight couriers cannot guarantee next-day delivery. As a result, we cannot deliver to the following postcodes:

Caring for your Koi:
Caring for your koi fish is essential for ensuring the health and well-being of your fish and maintaining a successful aquatic environment for your Koi. Here are some key aspects on caring for your Koi:
1. Water Quality Management:
• It is important to maintain optimal water quality parameters, with temperature, pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels being the core elements to monitor.
• Conduct regular water testing and monitoring to ensure that water quality remains within acceptable ranges. (Suitable Test kits, Probes and test strips are readily available from aquatic centres or other outlets).
• Performing partial water changes as needed to remove waste and replenish essential nutrients. (recommended 10% to 20% on a weekly basis all year round).
2. Feeding and Nutrition:
• Select high-quality Koi food appropriate for the size and dietary needs of the fish.
• Feed Koi fish a balanced diet rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals to support growth, health, and vibrant colouration. (1year old and above optimal protein 30% to 35%. Too higher protein food will produce unwanted waste and have a detrimental impact on the water quality of your pond)
• We recommend feeding small amounts twice or multiple times a day during the warmer months to prevent overfeeding and minimize waste. Removing any uneaten food after 5 minutes. Switching to a wheatgerm based food for the winter months, feeding once a day or as little as once a week. Stopping feeding below temperatures of 10 degrees. (Continuing to feed at temperatures below 10 degrees can cause serious health issues to your koi).
3. Aquatic Environment:
• It is important to create a suitable aquatic environment for Koi fish, including pond size, filtration, aeration, and landscaping.
• Where possible incorporating plants, rocks, and other natural features to provide hiding places, shelter, and visual interest for the fish.
• Design and maintain your pond in a way that mimics natural ecosystems and promotes the health and well-being of the fish.
4. Fish Health and Disease Prevention:
• Be aware of common diseases and health issues affecting Koi fish, including signs and symptoms to watch for. (lethargic, raised scale, loss of appetited, fungus)
• Implement measures to minimize the risk of disease, such as quarantine procedures for new fish arrivals, proper nutrition, and regular health monitoring.
• We recommend establishing a relationship with a veterinarian or aquatic specialist experienced in fish health for professional advice and assistance when needed.
5. Seasonal Care:
• It is important to apply seasonal care routines for Koi fish, including adjustments to feeding, water management, and pond maintenance based on changing environmental conditions.
• Have a strategy for preparing ponds for winter, such as installing heaters or de-icers to prevent freezing and ensuring adequate aeration.
6. Handling and Acclimatisation:
• Ensure the proper handling and acclimatisation procedures for introducing new fish to your pond to minimize stress and prevent injury.
• Float the fish in their bags (unopened) in the pond for a period of approximately 30 minutes or longer where temperature differences are greater to acclimatise new fish to the water temperature before releasing them into your pond or quarantine vat.
7. Educational Resources:
• Where possible refer to books, articles, or online forums, where you can learn more about Koi care, pond management, and aquatic health.
• We also recommend the participate in local Koi clubs or organizations for networking, support, and additional learning opportunities.
