Colombo Morenicol Lernex Pro is a highly effective treatment designed to combat resistant Skin Flukes (Gyrodactylus) and Gill Flukes (Dactylogyrus) in ornamental fish. This advanced formula is based on the latest scientific research and contains powerful active ingredients, including Praziquantel, Nitroscanate, and Flubendazole — high-quality anti-parasitic agents against which no resistance has yet developed.

Lernex Pro has been specifically developed to treat flukes that no longer respond to standard medications. Its unique blend of active substances provides exceptional efficacy, even against resistant parasite strains.

Because these parasites can only be accurately identified under a microscope, proper diagnosis is recommended before treatment. Maintaining good water quality is essential to ensure optimal results and promote fast recovery. Always test and adjust water parameters both before and after treatment.

Dosage and Instructions for Use

• Dose: 1 ml per 20 litres of pond water (equivalent to 50 ml per 1,000 litres).
  
• If necessary, repeat the treatment after 14 days.
  
• Ensure strong aeration throughout the treatment to maintain adequate oxygen levels.
  
• Measure the required amount using the supplied measuring cup.
  
• Keep UV lamps and ozone devices switched off for up to one week after the final dose.
  

After the last administration, wait 48 hours before adding Colombo Fish Protect to safeguard the fish’s mucous membrane and neutralize any remaining medication. For enhanced recovery, supplement feeding with Colombo Vita-Spray to support healing.

Important Notes

After adding Lernex Pro, parasite activity may temporarily increase. This can cause fish to flick, flash, or even jump due to irritation. Monitor your koi closely during and after treatment, and if possible, cover the pond with a net to prevent jumping.

Lernex Pro is intended for ornamental fish in ponds only.

Store in the original box at temperatures between 4°C and 32°C.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

Ensure the lid is closed securely after use and wash hands thoroughly.

The effect of Lernex Pro on other aquatic animals (such as frogs) is not well known, so use with caution. The use of multiple medications simultaneously is at your own risk, as the combined effects have not been studied.

Water Temperature

Because fish parasites are cold-blooded, their metabolism slows significantly at lower temperatures. Below 10°C, Lernex Pro is not effectively absorbed by the parasite. If possible, increase the water temperature above this level to improve treatment efficiency.

About Skin and Gill Flukes

Skin and gill flukes are microscopic flatworms (0.3–0.5 mm long) commonly found on pond fish.

• Gyrodactylus (Skin Fluke): Viviparous (gives birth to live young) and capable of reproducing rapidly, leading to heavy infestations. Their movement causes skin thickening and the formation of a grey, slimy layer.
  
• Dactylogyrus (Gill Fluke): Egg-laying parasites that damage and irritate the gills, causing swelling and impaired breathing. Affected fish often scrape or flash their gill covers on pond surfaces.
  

In recent years, resistant strains—particularly Gyrodactylus—have become increasingly common, showing resistance to traditional medications such as Triclabendazole, Levamisole, Fenbendazole, and Piperazine.
